Osteoporosis is a bone disease that weakens your bones and makes you more susceptible to fractures. Osteoporosis means “porous bone.”  Osteoporotic bones have lost density or mass and contain abnormal tissue structure. As bones become less dense, they weaken and are more likely to break. Weakened bones may break from a fall or, in serious cases, from sneezing or minor bumps.

Brain Health: Does Alcohol Use Increase Your Risk of Dementia?

As I sought to write this blog about Alcohol use being a risk factor for Dementia, I believed the answer was, “yes.” As I researched all the major national institutions looking for the data to support my assumption, I was surprised by how little confirming information there was on this. Certainly, there are studies showing that heavy drinking can cause Alcohol-related dementias but little direct correlation between drinking and the risk of developing dementia.
